It's Almost Time!!!

Well, for those of you who don't know...

IT'S ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE FOR HAITI!!!!!!!!!!

I leave with my team on Friday morning! :) I'm super excited to leave. It's going to be such a renewing experience for all of us! And definitely a refresher from everyday life here in Midland. Which sometimes kills me a little bit. But I'm grateful for everything I have and the people in my life.

I've been doing some packing today... It's amazing to me how much of an overpacker I can be. Sometimes I think I might be what they call "high maintenance". Haha. I can guarantee some people will read that, and agree completely. But nevertheless, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be able to fit everything in my tiny little carry on! Who'd have thought I'd ever be capable.

I feel like my preparation of my heart and mind for Haiti is coming along well! I've been in the Word a lot. Just seeing what God has to reveal to me each day. I've been spending a good amount of time in conversation with God. He's been putting things on my heart recently that I'm trying so desperately to accomplish.

It's been a while since I've gotten the chance to write an entry. I feel bad because this was supposed to be an everyday thing! But, sometimes life takes over, so I decided to update everyone on the fact that I am leaving very soon... going to make disciples of all nations... :)

Here is a story from the Bible for you guys to put on your mind today.

The Sheep and the Goats

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the King will say to those on his right, "Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?"
The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
Then he will say to those on his left, "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you have me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me."
They also will answer, "Lord, when did you see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?"
He will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me."
Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.
Matthew 25:31-46

This story kind of makes me think a lot. Do I pass up the opportunity to help others when they are in need? Next time you see someone struggling, help them. Don't just walk past and ignore it. Feed them, clothe them, look after them.

Have a good day everyone!
:)
